On Friday, the day after Thanksgiving at seven in the evening, Santa is on hand when the lights are turned on in the historic Square in Woodstock—suddenly all of the downtown trees and buildings are ablaze with colorful Christmas lights. Activities—which will go on all day will include caroling, street musicians and carriage rides and treats for the children. The Holiday Parade around the Square is a grand event on Sunday afternoon, which officially welcomes Santa to Woodstock. After the parade kids can meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Dial-a-Ride Garage, behind City Hall for milk and cookies. This is the perfect time for the little ones to discuss what they would like for Christmas.
